Meet The Team

Puppy Training Ireland is a One-Woman Business! My name is Naomi, and I'm so delighted that you're here!
I am a qualified dog trainer, accredited by the IMDT - the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers. Being accredited by this organisation is important because of their ethics. The IMDT family is a force free, fear free, science based community who promote only Positive Reinforcement Techniques. I am very proud to be part of this supportive team!

I have two dogs of my own; Jake who is a Labrador, and Belle who is a Golden Retriever. I also have a Tortoise, Georgie. As a child, I was obsessed with animals, whether they were on a farm, in a forest, by the sea or in my back garden; but I never dreamt of having a career with them!

I became interested in dog training while I was volunteering at a rescue shelter and was fascinated and excited about watching dogs learn new things - how quickly they picked them up and how much they enjoyed the learning. The biggest reward was seeing that those good manners helped them find forever homes. Our family have always been passionate about rescue/rehoming, and we've gotten so lucky with the dogs who've come and gone from our lives so far.

However, I understand that rescue isn't an option for everyone, so that's what has made me so focused on specialising in early days training with owners and their puppies; the goal is for those puppies to stay with the family forever, not end up in shelter or moving home-to-home, and I've seen through my work how early training guarantees that!

What Service Do I Provide?

My online consultation & training services promote exactly that. I have designed a Puppy Starter Package to ensure that you and your pup are set up for success! This includes three videocalls and email support.

The best order to do them is to begin with a pre-puppy-planning consultation before you even collect your puppy. This will have you set up for collection day, a shopping list of what you need to buy, and the items that can be left on the shelf, how to establish a routine, and the beginning of your puppies training.

Following on from that, around 3-5 days after puppy is home, we consult on how the routine is suiting both the puppy and the family, discuss any concerns that you have, and delve a bit deeper into the training.

Finally, around 2 weeks later, we have a call to progress in the training and check-in on the above also.

You can then book one session at a time for ongoing training and support as your puppy goes through development stages, and/or look at doing in person training and group classes. For those in my area, I’ll be so happy to continue with you in person. For those further afield, I will have a list of recommendations for other reputable trainers who I know that both you & I can trust.
